This drama is adapted from the novel "The Heroes of Lu Liang" by Ma Feng and Xi Rong. In the spring of 1942, the Japanese army launched a brutal "sweep" against our Jin-Sui anti-Japanese base, and the Eighth Route Army proactively withdrew from the Lu Liang mountainous area to concentrate their forces to counterattack. The anti-Japanese struggle of the people of Lu Liang entered its most difficult period... Kang Jia Zhai, a village located in the Lu Liang Mountains. After the Eighth Route Army's withdrawal, the situation in the village became turbulent and unpredictable. The old landlord Kang Xixue was happy that the opportunity for counterattack had arrived, plotting to reclaim the money and grain lost in the fight against rent and interest reductions, attempting to re-establish his power in the village. The farmer association cadre Kang Shunfeng took advantage of the situation and willingly ran errands for Kang Xixue. Young communist party member and farmer association cadre Lei Shizhu, along with party members Kang Mingli and Meng Ereleng, stood up determined to expose Kang Xixue's conspiracy... "The Heroes of Lu Liang" is the first long novel reflecting the national anti-Japanese efforts under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, with over a million copies printed. It tells the story of an ordinary village in the Lu Liang Mountains where villagers gradually awaken amid the burning, killing, and looting by the Japanese invaders and, under the leadership of the Communist Party, organize militia forces to engage in a tenacious struggle against the enemy. This is not the first time "The Heroes of Lu Liang" has been adapted into a film and television script. Previously, adaptations were made in places such as Beijing, Henan, and Shanxi, but due to inadequate investment or unsatisfactory scripts, none were produced.
