This is a lyrical comedy that tells a story happening close to the common people, truthfully depicting the life experiences of laid-off worker Ding Dake. Almost a year after his divorce, he is honest and capable. To make a living, he looks for jobs everywhere; sometimes, his straightforwardness ruins his boss's "good plans," and at other times, his own misplaced affections lead the boss to mistakenly see him as a "rival in love," causing him to be undermined at every turn... He, a kind-hearted man, meets his "match" during the partner-search event just as she is about to give birth; in that critical moment, he enthusiastically helps but is criticized by the nurse as a "man who only cares about his own comfort and ignores his girlfriend's life or death"... He heroically helps a friend with matchmaking yet cannot get close to her, leading to suspicions of him being gay! He also faces harsh rebukes from his girlfriend, who says, "You're even worse than Chen Shimei!"... In short, his good-hearted actions often land him in awkward situations where being a "good man" is difficult. In his helplessness, he can only sigh, "Actually, men have it the hardest..."
