The forty-episode TV series "Caoyun Pier" is adapted from the historical novel of the same name by Wang Zifu. It tells the story of Aisin Gioro Tielin, the Governor of the warehouse, who is appointed to the Caoyun Pier in Tongzhou during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty to rectify the corrupt practices of grain transportation.
