Conan is a rather inept Hong Kong detective responsible for solving a murder case. During the investigation, Conan is set up and ends up being labeled as a murderer. With the help of his girlfriend and his cousin from Shanghai, Conan ultimately uncovers that the real killer is his girlfriend's father, Xingguo. Xingguo committed the murder due to being blackmailed by others. His attempt to frame Conan was motivated by his desire to keep a son-in-law who is a detective away from him. After the truth is revealed, Conan clears his name and wins back his love.
