The story takes place in the summer of 2003. Duoduo (played by Yang Zishan) is a recent graduate stepping out of campus, full of hopes and fantasies about the future. By chance, Duoduo has a conflict with a man named Heyan (played by Zheng Kai), and they refuse to back down, causing a ruckus. Later, due to a twist of fate, Duoduo starts working at the company where Heyan is employed, with Heyan becoming her supervisor. On the surface, Heyan appears to be a carefree, laid-back man, but deep down, he harbors a dream of becoming a game developer. Upon learning about Heyan's dream, Duoduo begins to see him in a new light. Following an accident where Heyan falls and becomes unable to walk, he hits rock bottom in his life, but it is Duoduo's unwavering companionship that encourages him to regain his strength.
