A flood separates childhood companions Mio and Naoe. Mio is taken in by the landlady of a famous Osaka restaurant, Tenman Icchoan, who provides her warmth and discovers her extraordinary culinary talent. A great fire destroys the shop and takes the landlady's life. Mio and the landlady take on the task of reviving the name of Tenman Icchoan and travel to Edo. By chance, the owner of a restaurant named Tsuruya discovers Mio, stirring memories of his deceased daughter, and after recognizing Mio's talent, offers her a helping hand at Tsuruya. Initially, Mio's cooking is not well-received by customers; on the contrary, it even angers them. This makes her culinary journey quite difficult. After several setbacks and with the guidance and assistance of the ronin Komatsubara and Dr. Nagata, Mio realizes the differences between Osaka and Edo cuisine and makes changes.
