The story takes place at the end of the Sui Dynasty, where the intense rivalry between General Jiang Chengfeng (played by Wang Ruilin) and his political opponent Shi Tao (played by Wang Gang) has reached a boiling point. Shi Tao threatens his adopted son Shi Jingtian (played by Shao Feng) to provide him with protection. Shi Jingtian's true identity is the biological son of the Stone Monk (played by Jin Chaoqun). In an unexpected encounter, Shi Jingtian meets his adopted sister A'She (played by Yang Lijing), and they fall in love.
