The warm sunlight shines upon a sea of lush greenery, with mulberry trees stretching endlessly. In the prosperous land of Jinxiu Village, everyone lives in abundance, thanks to the renowned silk from "Yongtaixiang," which holds a celebrated reputation throughout the country, especially in Northeast China. The people here are full of energy and work hard every day because they enjoy the unique "Magu Rice Noodles" of Jinxiu Village. The "Magu Rice Noodles" shop is managed by the strong and resilient Magu, who maintains her charming exterior while managing the business with grit. For the employees and customers of "Yongtaixiang," not eating Magu Rice Noodles for a day feels like they have no strength to work. However, the owner of "Yongtaixiang," Chen Jian, is the only person rejected by Magu, due to their tumultuous past. Twenty years ago, when Magu worked as a maid in the Chen household, she fell in love with Chen Jian, and their relationship escalated to discussing marriage. Yet, they were thwarted by the elder lady of the family, who falsely accused Magu of having an affair with a flower prince. Chen Jian did not believe Magu and drove her out of the Chen family. Heartbroken, she joined Bingyu Hall, a place where numerous women vowed to remain unmarried. Magu established her own rice noodle stall and, over the past twenty years, her love for Chen Jian turned to hatred. However, she formed a close bond with Chen Jian's adopted son, Chen Fugui, who she regards as a son. Despite her ties to Bingyu Hall, Magu still believes in true love. Thus, when others look down on Fugui's romantic involvement with Qi Feng from Bingyu Hall, Magu secretly approves. Magu treats the village's children, especially those who have strayed, with kindness, hoping to learn about her own son. She takes special care of Sang Zhi, who accidentally stumbles into Jinxiu Village and seeks refuge in Bingyu Hall. While waiting for her son's return, she witnesses the turbulent romance between Sang Zhi and the rich young master Jia Bao, as well as the transformation of the petty thief Henry, who turns his foes into friends, eventually developing feelings for him. Later, Fugui discovers that Magu opened her rice noodle shop to wait for her son, who happens to be Chen Jian's biological child. To mend the relationship between his adoptive father and Magu, Fugui sets out to find her son. However, due to a scheme by Fugui's wife to swap identities, Fugui mistakenly believes he is the biological son of Magu and Chen Jian. Consequently, Fugui transitions from adopted son to biological son, while Magu rises from a rice noodle seller to becoming the second mistress of the Chen household. Fugui’s takeover of the Moth Valley leads to Yongtaixiang’s downfall, fracturing the Chen family and causing everyone at Bingyu Hall to lose their jobs, ultimately turning Fugui into the wealthy man of Jinxiu Village. Despite harboring deep resentment towards Chen Jian, he shares an even stronger emotional connection. Although he gains everything, he finds no happiness. In due course, they uncover that the whole scheme was orchestrated by his wife. Fugui also unexpectedly discovers that he is not Magu's biological son, but to avoid disappointing her, he keeps this secret to himself. His wife, however, takes the offensive and frames Fugui, putting him in jail. Magu is willing to go to any lengths to save her beloved son, during which she mends her rift with Chen Jian. Fate intervenes, and Magu learns that Fugui is not her biological son, while her actual son has become a young general. To maintain his power, her biological son has no intention of acknowledging her, wishing instead to meet his biological parents just once but hopes to remain strangers thereafter. Although both Magu and Chen Jian are disappointed, they agree to bury this secret deep within their hearts, treating Fugui as though he were their biological son and never mentioning this matter again.
