In the early years of the Republic of China, the world was in turmoil. Young Wesley (played by Wu Qilong) is an adventurous orphan raised by his master Mu Tian’en (played by Du Hongjun), on a mission to protect the royal tombs of the Qing Dynasty. The discovery of a stone coffin in the tomb leads to intense competition among various powers, and the mysterious young woman in a golden-silk jade dress inside the coffin becomes a puzzle for many. Wesley meets the daughter of Boss Bai, Bai Su (played by Yang Guang), due to this ancient coffin and is astonished to find that the woman in the coffin is actually Bai Su's mother, and the coffin serves as a time-traveling device. As they face life-and-death challenges and thrilling adventures, Wesley and Bai Su develop feelings for each other, and with the help of Bai Su and her brother Bai Qiwei (played by Yu Bo), Wesley uncovers more supernatural phenomena, all of which seem closely linked to the mystery of his own origins. The film is adapted from the sci-fi series of the same name by Ni Kuang.
