In the early years of the Republic of China, in a prominent family in Jiangnan, the master Zhang Muzhe had three sons: the eldest Zhang Shuru, the second son Zhang Shutian, and the youngest Zhang Shufang. One time, a cart carrying valuable medicinal materials was robbed, and without further investigation, Zhang Muzhe angrily scolded Shufang, causing him to leave home in anger.
