A modern "Journey to the West," a new flavor of "seeking scriptures" in today's life. A uniquely charming goddess turns into a tomboy, siblings separated, experiencing love and hate before reuniting. The four masters and disciples fight against cancer as well as "demons," searching for truth, highlighting the varied aspects of human nature, irony, dark secrets, suspense, and moments of joy, infused with warmth. Characters from "Journey to the West" are interwoven with urban vendettas. Hong Kong wealthy businessman Tang Youqiao holds an opening party for his family-owned pharmaceutical company "Shennong Hall" in Guangzhou, gathering people from all directions to showcase their talents. Tang Wensheng, a doctor specializing in cancer treatment, is invited to give a keynote speech, earning special recognition from Tang Youqiao, which inexplicably evokes a subtle familiarity. Zhu Laifu, who is used to deceit, mingles in the crowd like a butterfly, looking for opportunities to swindle. The cunning general manager Niu Shixiong has been observing everything and, along with his secretary Tie Li, secretly plans to teach these two obstacles a lesson. Meanwhile, Sun Tiansheng, who was unjustly fired by Tie Li, comes to confront her, inadvertently igniting a conflict. In fact, Sun Tiansheng's real identity is an investigator from the Drug Administration's anti-counterfeiting office, secretly tracking down Niu Shixiong, Tie Li, and others for producing fake drugs. Alongside Sun Tiansheng is a young motorcycle rider wearing a helmet, who seems to have a competitive relationship with him. Surprisingly, this boyish-looking rider, who continuously clashes with Sun Tiansheng, is actually Tang Youqiao's only daughter, Tang Chao! Niu Shixiong orders his subordinates to take action amidst the chaos, immediately turning the vibrant party upside down. In the brawl, Zhu Laifu escapes, while Sun Tiansheng, outnumbered and injured, is saved by the kind-hearted Tang Wensheng. Energetic and spirited, Tang Chao is impressed by Sun Tiansheng's skill, leading her to develop feelings for him. However, this displeases Tang Youqiao, who repeatedly complains about having such a troublesome daughter. Disappointed in Tang Chao, he decides to leverage Tang Wensheng's expertise in drug research to assist in the subsidiary's operations, showing interest in Wensheng's background. Meanwhile, Niu Shixiong and Tie Li are anxious about Tang Youqiao's decision. However, Tang Wensheng declines Tang Youqiao's offer. This is because the unambitious Tang Wensheng is dedicated to finding effective treatments for cancer patients and doesn't want to leave his beloved research position. Moreover, he is preparing to marry his beloved Qingfang, wishing to avoid major life changes. Just days before the wedding, Qingfang suddenly has a change of heart and cancels the engagement. Wensheng is puzzled, but after learning from Zhu Laifu, who has an unusual interest in women yet was rejected by Qingfang, he discovers the truth: Qingfang has been diagnosed with cancer. Thus, the devastated Wensheng reverses his initial decision and proactively contacts Tang Youqiao, determined to seek support from the Tang family business to accelerate the development of a new cancer treatment. Tang Youqiao is delighted by Wensheng's change of heart, promising to establish a special research foundation for him and providing all necessary equipment, with the only condition being that Wensheng oversees the quality of "Shennong Hall" products. This enrages Niu Shixiong, who is eager to eliminate him. However, Niu Shixiong is unaware that Tie Li has secretly taken a liking to Wensheng, which helps him avert disaster. Tang Youqiao goes to Huixin Kindergarten to inquire about Tang Wensheng's background but unexpectedly finds that all relevant materials have been stolen. Tang Wensheng recruits aid, and Sun Tiansheng, whom he saved before, is devoted to him. Zhu Laifu sees an opportunity for profit and joins in. The mechanic Sha Ligan, who feels guilty for earlier actions against Wensheng, also arrives upon hearing the news. The four gather and discover that their surnames and personalities remarkably resemble those of the four disciples from "Journey to the West," leading to playful banter. Moreover, Wensheng's white "BMW" also joins the fun, reminiscent of Xuánzàng's white dragon horse, adding to the amusement. Tang Chao has mixed feelings about Tang Wensheng’s entry into the Tang family business. She is deeply infatuated with Sun Tiansheng and feels both joy and worry at the prospect of seeing him more often. However, she fears that Wensheng might take her place in her father's heart. Zhu Laifu, undeterred by previous setbacks, shifts his target to Tang Chao. Tang Chao pretends to accept Laifu’s advances while using him to provoke Tiansheng. Tiansheng falls for the trick, advising Tang Chao to be careful not to be deceived, and inadvertently finds himself clashing with Laifu in an attempt to protect Tang Chao, which pleases her, but Tiansheng's awareness leads to an accidental exposure of her deception. Tang Chao’s only confidant is Qingfang, whose gentle affections she envies. In an attempt to attract Tiansheng, Tang Chao imitates Qingfang but ends up appearing awkward and ridiculous, further scaring Tiansheng away. Qingfang's condition suddenly worsens, and she narrowly escapes death after emergency treatment. Wensheng, investigating the cause, discovers that Qingfang, eager for healing, had been taking counterfeit drugs falsely labeled as produced by "Shennong Hall!" Tang Youqiao is furious and orders an investigation into the production process of the batch. Cunningly, Niu Shixiong shifts the blame onto Tang Wensheng. In reality, Tang Chao, misled by Niu Shixiong and Tie Li, had taken the initiative to release the drugs into the market. Wensheng does not defend himself and takes responsibility, which deeply moves Tang Chao, prompting her to confess to her father. However, Tang Youqiao harshly reprimands her, leading to a painful father-daughter confrontation. Tang Youqiao learns from the Drug Administration about an insider in the company, and Niu Shixiong points fingers at Tang Wensheng. Unexpectedly, not long after, Tang Youqiao travels abroad for business and mysteriously dies of cardiac failure while overseas. Wensheng is shocked upon hearing the news and vows to find the culprit who tarnished “Shennong Hall”’s reputation as a way to repay Tang Youqiao's kindness. Thus, Tang Wensheng and his three companions begin to investigate discreetly, enduring many hardships and dangers in pursuit of the ultimate "truth." During this journey, the rebellious and fiery Tang Chao, as well as Zhu Laifu, who's clever yet greedy, cause plenty of trouble, adding humor and unpredictability to their quest. Cheng Huixin receives a photo sent by Tang Youqiao before his death featuring his long-lost wife, only to discover, much to her shock, that the young woman in the photo is Wensheng's mother. Wensheng, learning of this revelation, is astonished, lamenting the fate that separates him from his father. In the end, Tang Chao and Tang Wensheng, along with others, are tricked by Niu Shixiong into a remote mountain area claimed to be the hideout of counterfeit drugs, leading them to fall into a deep trap. Just then, Niu Shixiong reveals himself, and they realize they’ve been duped. He frankly admits to using the Tang family business’s reputation to sell counterfeit drugs, stating that all of this will forever remain a secret, and he plans to make them vanish silently in the mountains. After saying this, he leaves. Tang Chao arrives but cannot rescue Wensheng and the others, feeling helpless. At that moment, Wensheng finally reveals his true background to Tang Chao, lamenting that their long-awaited reunion turned into a farewell, reminding her to mature and take on the heavy responsibility of seeking justice against Niu Shixiong. In this crisis, an elderly herbalist appears and rescues Wensheng and the others. It seems that fate had already been determined; the elderly man turns out to be someone who once saved Wensheng and his mother. Wensheng's mother had fallen ill in that area years ago and entrusted Wensheng to him before she passed, which is how he managed to bring Wensheng to Huixin. Just as Niu Shixiong and Tie Li celebrate removing all obstacles, Wensheng and Tang Chao appear before them. Sun Tiansheng and law enforcement promptly follow, arresting the two. Wensheng and Tang Chao visit their father’s grave to pay respects, assuring their father that under the guidance of the herbalist, he has finally succeeded in developing a new cancer treatment, with Qingfang being the first beneficiary. Wensheng also informs his father that he plans to build a specialized cancer hospital on Putuo Mountain under the Tang family name, where he and Qingfang will live, near the serene waters that conceal his mother's spirit. Tang Chao officially takes over the Tang family business. At the celebration, she unexpectedly wears a floor-length gown, gracefully appearing before everyone. After initially being stunned, Sun Tiansheng bursts into laughter, as he is unaccustomed to the tomboy turning into a seductive goddess. Tang Chao, feeling awkward, forgets to hold back, and ends up playfully trading blows with Tiansheng, causing quite a scene and ending the party in chaos.
