Jie Zhengguo is a worker at the Kailuan Coal Mine, known for his high martial arts skills, righteous behavior, and deep trust among the miners. He also possesses a unique magic trick and has consistently led the masses in their struggle against the British capitalists controlling the coal mine. After the "Marco Polo Bridge Incident," the Japanese occupied Tangshan, and the Kailuan Coal Mine became an important target for their plundering of strategic resources. Under the leadership of the Eighth Route Army, Jie Zhengguo established a workers' special operations team, utilizing the miners' familiarity with the underground terrain, technical skills, and ability to endure hardship to engage with the Japanese invaders led by Jun'ichi Kin'no. Jie Zhengguo and Jun'ichi Kin'no became adversaries, constantly vying against each other. The Kuomintang sent Lieutenant Sun Xianwu to infiltrate the workers' special operations team, intending to win over or sabotage this armed force. The special operations team led by Jie Zhengguo overcame numerous hardships and gradually grew stronger, ambushing Japanese forces, seizing weapons and ammunition, blowing up ammunition depots, skillfully assisting foreign doctor Norman, exposing the Japanese military's plot to kidnap Chen Kuangsih to control the coal mine, and disrupting the Japanese army's plans to build a port on the Tangshan coast for coal transport to the homeland, thwarting their attempts to plunder the resources of the Kailuan Coal Mine. Through the baptism of battle, and under the guidance and influence of Communists and Eighth Route Army leaders like Wang Maosheng and Political Commissar Deng, Jie Zhengguo evolved from a brother who values loyalty into a true hero of the anti-Japanese movement and a military commander.
