Bai Suzhen (played by Sun Xiaoxiao) is a snake demon with a millennium of cultivation. Guided by Guanyin Bodhisattva, she arrives on Earth, where she encounters her benefactor Xu Xian (played by Lu Hong), who saved her in a previous life.
