"Cultural Stationmaster," a 26-episode humorous comedy, is set against the backdrop of building a new socialist countryside and describes a series of cultural anecdotes happening in a village in northern China. Through the portrayal of a group of lively rural characters representing cultural and entertainment activities, it deeply reflects the remarkable new situations in the countryside over the more than thirty years since the reform and opening-up, as well as the strong demands of farmers for spiritual culture after their basic needs are met. The television drama "Cultural Stationmaster," originally titled "Cultural Stationmaster Manages Culture," is a humorous light comedy that reflects contemporary rural cultural life. The story takes place amidst the wave of creating a socialist new countryside and building a harmonious society in northern rural areas—specifically in Beiliu Township and Xiangfu Village—and depicts a series of cultural anecdotes. It showcases the realistic life of contemporary rural areas through the character of Guanhua, the cultural stationmaster of the township. Guanhua, the cultural stationmaster of Beiliu Township, is an old cultural figure in Xiangfu Village who became the township cultural stationmaster through his own cultural strength and subsequently embarked on a grand cultural undertaking. However, he does not understand the ways of governance, so he experiences the ups and downs of his job and is humorously nicknamed "Cultural Stubborn." Nevertheless, this small character, Guanhua, discovers enormous business opportunities in tourism development from the profound historical culture and unique cultural heritage of Xiangfu Village. After much hardship and with the support of leaders at both the township and village levels, the tourism industry in Xiangfu has been rapidly growing. At the same time, Guanhua has initiated various cultural activities across the entire township. Leading from Xiangfu Village, he first established the "Farmers' Art Troupe," organized competitions for "Ten-Star Civilized Households," "Good Wives," and "Top Ten Youths," and conducted activities to connect party members with households, effectively advocating for the civility of the township. Furthermore, with self-raised funds, he successfully held a grand singing and dancing competition and a farmer's sports meeting. He also founded a "Dictionary Museum," recommended outstanding youth for further education, and carved a path of "promoting the economy through culture and enhancing culture through the economy, achieving synchronized development of cultural and economic growth," which greatly facilitated the simultaneous advancement of material and spiritual civilization. Many vivid examples in the series come from Huangcheng Village, where the main actors found the real-life inspiration for Guanhua, allowing people through the story to witness the tremendous changes that have occurred in Huangcheng Village in recent years, as well as the prospects for tourism development.
