In her previous life, the Bodhisattva of Compassion made a great vow before the Buddha, to be reincarnated in the mortal world to awaken sentient beings, guiding them toward the path of goodness and helping them escape from suffering. Just as the Bodhisattva of Compassion was reincarnated as Princess Miaoshan of the Kingdom of Miaozhuang, the dark-clad witch (the Demon Carp) swirled black clouds and surrounded auspicious clouds, descending into the royal palace of King Miaozhuang, claiming that the third princess was possessed by a demon, and inciting officials and the populace with the rhetoric that without removing her, the kingdom would be at risk. Prime Minister Huo Yu, eager to seize the throne, also pressured the king to cast the infant princess into the sea under this pretext... After the third princess was saved, the witch relentlessly pursued, using magic to create a series of accidents to threaten the family of Yin Ma, who had bravely rescued and cared for Miaoshan. Unable to fulfill her plot, she pushed Yin Miaoshan and her father down a cliff, intending to kill Miaoshan.
Miaoshan grew up facing numerous trials and tribulations, diligently practicing Buddhism. With the enlightenment from the Buddha, she and her adoptive father devoted themselves to healing and aiding the people of the forest, fostering goodwill among neighbors. The witch, knowing that Huo Yu was even more eager to usurp the throne, informed the princess of her whereabouts and claimed that Miaoshan was the biggest obstacle to the treacherous Prime Minister's ambition. Thus, a series of insidious and brutal plots were orchestrated by the witch and the traitor. In the end, Miaoshan used the treasure box and pure vase bestowed by the Buddha to defeat them. Miaoshan requested King Miaozhuang to restore Baique Temple, and she and her two disciples attained enlightenment and ascended to the heavenly realm, where the Buddha conferred upon them the title of Great Compassionate and Great Benevolent Guanyin Bodhisattva.
