In 1977, the eighth-grade students of Wafang School were informed that, due to the limited capability of the teachers, the class was about to be disbanded. The class was in chaos, and parents pressured the principal, causing unrest in the school as no teachers were assigned. In a moment of despair, the higher authorities sent a young teacher, Fang Ge, who was part of a work team.
