The film tells the story of the early Republican era, where revolutionary party member Gao Bujiao goes to Beijing to join the anti-Yuan forces but is betrayed by the hall master, Copper Lion. Fortunately, he is rescued by a young beggar named Zhang Yegui, and they become sworn brothers. One day, to save a friend, Zhang Yegui becomes enemies with Copper Lion, who sells him to Tianjin to face death. Luckily, he is rescued by his sworn brother, and they flee to Wugong Mountain.
