Tang Hao, an excellent student from Peking University, is deeply in love with the beautiful girl Li Jiaying, who majors in Korean at the foreign language department. Given their poor backgrounds, they work hard to lessen their family's burdens, and their shared fate and aspirations bond the two young hearts together. Tang Hao's classmate Dong Min hails from a wealthy family and often treats Tang Hao like a servant. One day, he asks Tang Hao to drive him to a theme party hosted by Zhou Lan, the daughter of the chairman of the "Xinya Group." Amid the hotel's dazzling lights, Tang Hao is starving in the car, and when Jiaying comes to bring him food, she is hit by Zhou Lan's car. Zhou Lan, in her haste to leave, throws down a pile of money and attempts to evade responsibility, but Tang Hao throws the money back in her face, demanding an apology for Jiaying. This is the first time Zhou Lan encounters someone daring enough to stand up to her, and she vows to teach this poor boy a lesson. After many twists and turns, Zhou Lan finds herself unable to subdue Tang Hao, instead becoming captivated by his unique charm and insisting on recommending him for a job at her father's company. At the same time, Jiaying is being fervently pursued by Jin Hongming, the nephew of the president, during her translation of an important negotiation for the Korean "Daxing Group." However, what Tang Hao and Jiaying cherish most is their profound love, and they both reject their respective admirers. Soon, Tang Hao's sister Tang Xiuyan falls ill with kidney disease and comes to Beijing for treatment. Zhou Lan actively provides support by finding the best hospital and doctor. Meanwhile, the kind-hearted Jiaying, wanting to relieve her beloved's worries, falsely claims to be on a business trip out of town and secretly donates a kidney to Xiuyan without Tang Hao's knowledge. Faced with the harsh realities of life, Tang Hao ultimately succumbs to money and temptation, breaking up with Jiaying with immense guilt and falling into Zhou Lan's embrace, thereby entering the management of Zhou Lan's father's "Xinya Group," becoming a favored son-in-law and enjoying success. Having donated a kidney and lost her lover, Jiaying is now in despair and decides to accept Jin Hongming's invitation to further her studies in Korea. Tang Chenghua, Jiaying's younger brother adopted by her parents, learns that his sister's suffering is entirely caused by Tang Hao. By chance, he meets Tang Xiuyan and flatters her to manipulate her feelings as a form of revenge against Tang Hao. However, the unfortunate Xiuyan genuinely falls in love with the reformed Chenghua, whose sincerity and kindness eventually lead him to abandon his plan for revenge, and the two get together. After marriage, Zhou Lan gradually loses interest in Tang Hao and reencounters her first love, which she cannot forget. Unbeknownst to her, her parents orchestrated his departure, yet she remains deeply in love with him. However, his weakness and retreat leave Zhou Lan immensely disappointed… After a miscarriage, Zhou Lan becomes extremely despondent. With career success, Tang Hao grows increasingly uncomfortable with Zhou Lan's domineering attitude, feeling the pain of being under someone else's roof, leading him to yearn even more for Jiaying's gentle and caring nature. He becomes even more opportunistic, resorting to unscrupulous methods to seize control of the "Xinya Group." Meanwhile, facing Jiaying's sorrow, Jin Hongming goes to great lengths to help and protect her, hoping that time will allow her to see and ultimately accept his sincere feelings. With Jin Hongming's recommendation, Jiaying officially joins the "Daxing Group," where her talents are on full display, and she is sent back to China by the company. At an important event, Tang Hao and Jiaying unexpectedly meet, and Tang Hao assumes Jiaying intends to cling to him, coldly warning her to stay away and even sending threats. Jiaying is deeply hurt, and afterwards, Tang Hao uses sweet words to manipulate Jiaying into extracting business secrets from the "Daxing Group." After enduring repeated emotional injuries, Jiaying finally begins her revenge against Tang Hao. Jiaying sets up traps that put Tang Hao at a disadvantage in the competition, while at the same time, Tang Hao becomes increasingly ambitious within the "Xinya Group." His illegal fundraising nearly leads to the company's destruction, and the Hong family expels him to save themselves. Ultimately, Tang Hao's reputation is ruined. Zhou Lan and Tang Hao's relationship also comes to an end… Jin Hongming not only provides significant help to Jiaying but also to her uncle's family, for which Jiaying is immensely grateful. As her wedding date with Jin Hongming approaches, Jiaying often feels an unnamed sense of loss and anxiety. At the grand wedding, Jiaying ultimately becomes a "runaway bride," and Jin Hongming understands her feelings profoundly. … The rise and fall of life experiences help Tang Hao understand what is truly valuable, leading to deep regret, and just when he has hit rock bottom, Jiaying finds him once again. Their love, having gone through temptation, betrayal, and revenge, finally returns to the initial bond that is hard to break.
