The story takes place in 1919, where Luan Xuetang (played by Gu Zhixin) is a lowly homeless beggar. After arriving in Beijing, he serendipitously enters Jifeng Tower and becomes a hall attendant. However, after unintentionally uncovering the manager's secret, he is expelled.
