Da Gang, the honest and simple warehouse manager of the Tianhai Museum, has always had a secret crush on the pure, kind-hearted, and beautiful museum researcher Li Binghe. Despite having Li Binghe's twin brother Li Yufan as a strong support, none of the various confession methods Da Gang had prepared were used, as he was instead outmaneuvered by an unexpected guest, the antique dealer Han Zhengping. However, this wealthy and handsome nobleman's true identity is actually that of a notorious thief who specializes in stealing antiques, and his aim in getting close to Binghe is to steal the precious Tang Dynasty artifact, the Tang figurine! During the struggle to retrieve the figurine, Yufan and Binghe encounter a car accident and both fall into a coma... While dreaming, Yufan witnesses the thrilling scene where Wu Zetian is about to be punished by Emperor Taizong Li Shimin. Upon waking, he sees that although his sister has not regained consciousness, there are clear signs of her awareness. After searching through books and consulting a doctor, Yufan decides to dive back into the dream world, weaving stories to awaken his sister, and thus begins a turbulent, thrilling journey through the palace... Double Deception To solidify her position in the harem, Empress Wang brings Wu Meiniang back from Gan Ye Temple. During a banquet, someone poisons Wu Meiniang using the dietary principle of the adverse effect of chestnuts and duck meat, intending to harm her and frame the former court historian Yin Hao, who has been demoted to a kitchen servant for protecting Wu Meiniang. At the banquet, both Wu Meiniang and Empress Wang succumb to the poison, and Yin Hao is imprisoned. The Emperor orders that the true murderer be found within three days, or else Yin Hao will lose his head. Wu Meiniang, Yufan, and Chunxi work meticulously, peeling back layers of deception to approach the truth—who is the real culprit? The Night Blooming Cactus Wu Meiniang faces ostracism in the palace at the hands of Consort Xiao, who, enamored by Emperor Gaozong, secretly uses significant military resources to transport the legendary "Night Blooming Cactus" from the desert. At the market, Wu Meiniang witnesses the innocent girl Xiao Ai being killed by the horses transporting the cactus for Consort Xiao. Infuriated, Wu Meiniang storms into Consort Xiao's palace and angrily destroys the cactus, allowing Consort Xiao to manipulate Emperor Gaozong into believing Wu Meiniang is secretly meeting with a man outside the palace, presenting fabricated evidence. In a fit of rage, Gaozong banishes Wu Meiniang to the cold palace. That night in the Shangyang Palace, a sharp dagger stealthily approaches Wu Meiniang's heart... The Desert Ballad National Master Yuan Tiangang bribes the Tibetan National Master Lunzanpo to create a "heavenly omen," enabling the Tibetan prince to come to the Tang Dynasty to marry Wu Meiniang for the sake of the nation's prosperity. Yufan, Yin Hao, and Chunxi rack their brains to keep the Tibetan prince in the palace, even bringing modern "candlelight dinner" concepts to the Tang era. With the Tang Dynasty surrounded and lacking military strength, in desperation, Wu Meiniang willingly agrees to go to Tibet to protect the Tang kingdom. Amid heartfelt farewells, what clever strategies will the intelligent Wu Meiniang and her allies Yufan and Yin Hao use to turn the tide and return to the Tang Dynasty? The Beauty's Grudge "In the north, there is a beauty, unmatched and alone," as Wu Meiniang, Empress Wang, and Consort Xiao battle for the Emperor's affection, the mysterious woman Tao Ru, like a celestial being, descends from the heavens, swiftly winning Emperor Gaozong's heart. Tao Ru navigates between the three women, seemingly flattering and forming alliances, but behind her actions lies an unknown conspiracy. What is her true identity? What is her purpose? The Death of the Princess Wu Meiniang gives birth to twins, Li Hong and Li Ping, reaching the peak of her power. Seizing an opportunity while Wu Meiniang is away, Consort Xiao mistakenly takes the princess for the prince and suffocates her in the cradle. Unexpectedly, soon after Consort Xiao leaves, Empress Wang visits Wu Meiniang's palace, and the death of Li Ping is brought to light, with Empress Wang inadvertently becoming the scapegoat. Seeking justice, Wu Meiniang pleads with Gaozong to punish Empress Wang; however, out of old feelings, Gaozong only deposes her and banishes her to the cold palace. Will the grief-stricken Wu Meiniang let this go? Consort's Tears The six palaces are empty, with the two consorts vying for the title of Empress. Consort Xiao uses sorcery to attempt to secretly kill Wu Meiniang but is spotted by one of Wu Meiniang's trusted allies; Wu Meiniang seizes the chance to expose Consort Xiao's sorcery before Gaozong, leading him to detest her deeply, and she is imprisoned in a dungeon. The day Consort Xiao is imprisoned is the same day Wu Meiniang ascends to the throne! As Empress, Wu Meiniang accidentally discovers that Consort Xiao was behind the murder of Li Ping and vows to exact bloody revenge! A Dream of Old Friends Yin Hao learns the truth behind Consort Xiao's death and can't bear to see Wu Meiniang ascend to the throne at the cost of others. Left with no choice, he decides to leave the palace and travel afar. However, fearing that Yin Hao will reveal her wrongdoings against Consort Xiao, Wu Meiniang, disregarding their deep friendship, seeks to eliminate him. Chunxi, who is deeply in love with Yin Hao, tries to warn him and takes a blade meant for him, putting her life at risk. Heartbroken, Yin Hao returns to the palace once more. This time, the pair, once close friends turned enemies, will face the ultimate moment of life and death—will it be mutual redemption or shared destruction? As time flows by, an aging Wu Meiniang crafts a Tang figurine that looks exactly like Yin Hao and places a blood jade and glass chain within it for safekeeping... Binghe wakes up and, alongside Yufan, arranges an exhibition for the blood jade and glass chain, telling the story intertwined with joy and sorrow, love and separation, of the dream returning to the Tang Dynasty to every visitor who believes in love.
