The story takes place in a coastal city. The Customs Director, Du Xinping (played by Song Chunli), is indignant about evil. She wants to use her subordinate, Zhou Haibin (played by Wang Jia), to conduct a thorough investigation into the smuggling group led by Gao Jinlin (played by Sun Honglei) through personal vendetta and corruption. However, due to a mole's betrayal, her efforts are in vain. To bring down Du Xinping, Gao Jinlin resorts to all means, implementing various schemes, but they are all uncovered by Du one by one. The cunning Gao then shifts his focus to Du's son, Luo Liang (played by Lu Yi). Luo Liang has been resentful of his mother due to his parents' divorce and is struggling at work as the company is facing tough times. Gao Jinlin exploits this and draws him into the smuggling gang, and by the time Du Xinping discovers it, it is too late. Gao threatens Du Xinping with evidence of Luo Liang's smuggling of banned goods, falsely accusing her and putting her behind bars. The surgeon Kou Jie (played by Li Renyi), who was once Du Xinping's lover, tells Luo Liang that his mother’s imprisonment is a result of a conspiracy. Determined to vindicate his mother, Luo Liang has the surgeon Kou Jie perform facial plastic surgery on him, and he begins his revenge plan...
