The story begins in the late 1970s when Hong Kong businessman He Jun travels to Singapore with his wife and children. There, a young lady named Zhong Qing becomes deeply infatuated with He Jun. After repeatedly being rejected despite her various temptations, the enraged Zhong Qing starts to plot against He Jun's family, leading to the eventual demise of the He family, leaving only two unfortunate orphans to be sent back to their homeland. The seeds of revenge are sown in the young hearts of the brothers. Years pass, and He Ping and his younger brother He Fan finally grow up. Although He Ping has great ideals and ambitions, he lacks the determination and perseverance to achieve them. After experiencing failure in his entrepreneurial endeavors, He Fan takes over his brother's business and, using his own resilience and wisdom, ultimately finds success. Seeing his younger brother thriving, He Ping, unwilling to be outdone, decides to return to Singapore to start anew.
