Young villager Xie Yongqiang (played by He Shufeng) is a graduate of a forestry university. While waiting for a job back home, he starts a romance with a village girl Wang Xiaomeng (played by Wang Yabin). However, they face strong opposition from his father Xie Guangkun (played by Tang Jianjun), who has always hoped for his son to succeed.
