The story takes place over two thousand years ago in a place called Shifeng Village, where a powerful mountain god, the Snake Tamer (played by Yao Gang), hides in the mountains. He threatens the locals with disasters, demanding that they offer young girls to him for sacrifices. The seasoned warrior Yu Gong (played by Zhao Hengxuan), who has trained in martial arts since childhood, serves as a guard to the king. His beloved girl, Ziyu, is sacrificed to the mountain god, filling him with rage and sorrow. He destroys the altar and fights against the demons, but reluctantly stops at his parents' pleading, only to be slandered by the wise old man (played by Du Yuan) and exiled to the wilderness.
