The 26-episode television drama adapted from Bi Shumin's realism novel, with the same name, starts airing tonight during prime time on BTV-4. Sarina plays the role of a wicked mother for the first time, but she herself stated that the hardest role to play is actually that of a mother in real life. The story begins in the early 1970s. The protagonist, Pu Xiaoti, excels academically and has grand ambitions. After graduating from middle school, she and her classmates, Zhen Zhicheng and Bai Erbao, were initially prepared to go to the countryside, but they were assigned to work as laborers in a shipyard instead. Lao Yao, who was responsible for the assignments, used to be part of the shipyard and has a terrible reputation among the workers, which led to Pu Xiaoti and her friends being "affected"—the masters at the shipyard were unwilling to take them on as apprentices.
