During the Anti-Japanese War, the Japanese invaders left deep scars on this ancient land. On a dark and stormy night, the brave and strong Chang Fa (played by Yu Rongguang) boldly infiltrated the Japanese army's headquarters and rescued a group of Chinese girls, including Mei Zi (played by Tong Lei). From then on, their fates were intertwined. Chang Fa, nicknamed "Wolf Poison Flower," instilled fear in the Japanese with his valor, though his reckless bandit nature and promiscuous behavior also made him a source of both admiration and frustration for the Eighth Route Army leaders, Meng Changsheng (played by Yang Guanghua) and Zhen Yiran (played by Cheng Taishen). In the subsequent battles against the Japanese and during the Chinese Civil War, Chang Fa and Zhen Yiran endured the harshest tests of artillery fire and built a strong camaraderie. Meanwhile, Mei Zi dedicated herself to the revolution, gradually becoming an outstanding women's worker. Amidst the chaos of war and national disintegration, the passionate sons and daughters of China each penned their own songs of destiny… This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Quan Yanchu.
