In 1927, the 415 and 715 counter-revolutionary coups occurred in succession. To rescue the revolution, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China convened the "August 7th Meeting" and decided to appoint Mao Zedong (played by Hou Jingjian) to lead the armed uprising in the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi border area. On September 9, Mao Zedong declared the uprising and personally led the First Division, Third Regiment of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army to a victorious first battle, successfully capturing Baisha Town and Dongmen City. However, the temporarily incorporated Qiu Guoxuan's Fourth Regiment betrayed, and Wang Xinya's Second Regiment underestimated the enemy and was surrounded, while the Third Regiment suffered a serious setback due to the enemy's strength. Mao Zedong quickly changed the plan to attack Changsha and decided to lead his troops to the Luo Xio Mountains, where the enemy's forces were weaker. Subsequently, the Autumn Harvest Uprising forces underwent the "Three Bays Reorganization," establishing the highest principle of "the Party's absolute leadership over the army." On April 28, 1928, the troops led by Mao Zedong met with those led by Zhu De from the Hunan Southern Uprising at Jinggangshan, forming the largest and most powerful revolutionary armed force led by the party, marking the true birth of the predecessor to the People's Liberation Army of China—a Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army that is absolutely loyal to the party and wholeheartedly serves the people.
