On a sultry night in the summer of 1991, on a suburban road in a northern city. Four young men from the city were on their way back after selling watermelons. They are workers Ge Zhiqiang, worker Zhao Yonggang, truck driver Xu Danian, and employee of the state-owned grain store Jiang Bicheng. On the suburban road, someone is intercepting the watermelon truck and forcefully buying watermelons. The four brothers refuse to comply, firmly refusing the other party, and get into an argument.
