In the 1950s, the overall situation of the world had been settled, yet in remote areas such as the southwestern borders, the remnants of the Kuomintang and the deeply rooted bandit tyrants were still making their last desperate resistance. The complex terrain and situation in the western part of Hubei were occupied by multiple hostile forces that were difficult to deal with. Guan Yongbo (played by Huang Haibo), who had a troubled background, was rescued from a bandit hideout by Luo Dacheng (played by Li Xuejian), the deputy political commissioner of the Lichuan County Committee. After undergoing the forging and tempering of the new society, he not only joined the Chinese Communist Party but also became a captain of a bandit suppression task force. Yongbo, who knew his hometown well, took on the heavy responsibility of eliminating bandits but had to face his dear brother Qin Tianshu (played by Ren Quan), who had now become a notorious bandit leader for various reasons.
