The story takes place during the Ming Dynasty in the Tianqi period. Ruo Nan (played by Zhao Liying) is in love with Zhu Tianbao (played by Kim Ki-bum), but is promised by her father to Zhu Tianbao's brother, Zhu Tianxiang (played by Zhu Zixiao).
