"Gaineimen" tells the story set in the Republic of China in 1916, revolving around the seals that signify the rise and fall of the Gaineimen lineage, which are held by three individuals, one of whom is the Qing Gang leader Ji Yuntian. One day, Ji Yuntian is assassinated, and some of the seals he held also disappear. Detective Zuo Nian from the police is undercover investigating this matter within the Gaineimen and is poisoned by the murderer. Zuo Nian's superior finds his twin brother Zuo Si, hoping he will continue the undercover work in place of his brother. Ordinary citizen Zuo Si lacks his brother's sense of mission and does not want to get involved.
