The runaway bride, Yueya'er (played by Jin Chen), unexpectedly meets the mysterious immortal master, Wuxin (played by Han Dongjun). Grateful for Yueya'er’s half a dumpling, Wuxin decides to return the favor—making money by catching monsters and treating Yueya'er to a life of luxury. Wuxin and Yueya'er’s first deal comes from the warlord Gu Xuanwu (played by Wang Yanlin), whose residence is plagued by attacks from a monster in the well, leading to frequent murders. Wuxin is focused on catching monsters for profit, but inadvertently attracts the interest of the immortal monster in the well, Yue Qiluo (played by Chen Yao), who is ruthless yet infatuated with Wuxin. Meanwhile, Gu Xuanwu’s advisor, Zhang Xianzhong (played by Zhang Ruoyun), develops feelings for Yue Qiluo, sparking a series of conflicts and amusing incidents.
