In the summer of 1943, in the territory of Wunan County under the jurisdiction of the Jin-Cha-Ji border area in the Taihang Mountains, the Japanese army stationed heavy troops to plunder iron ore and timber resources, as well as to build roads. After successfully escaping from the Blackwind Ridge road construction area, Yang Shusheng, the head of the guard company of the 2nd Division of the Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu Military Region of the Eighth Route Army, and several soldiers were hunted down by the Japanese troops led by Lieutenant Colonel Matsuyama to Qingshiyu Village, just in time for villager Zhao Tiechui's wedding.
