"Time and Space Call" primarily tells the story of the cold case team leader He Jun (played by Li Xiaoran) transforming from a workplace rookie into a competent policewoman. She leads a four-member investigation team, headed by rookie detective Gu Mingzhe (played by Wang Tianchen), to seek the truth behind long-standing unsolved cases and uphold justice. Among them, He Jun, who has been a detective for 20 years, is diligently investigating cases while also searching for the long-missing detective Cao Zheng (played by Du Chun). However, Gu Mingzhe, living in 2018, and detective Cao Zheng, living in 1998, unexpectedly start a wonderful communication through a mysterious phone call. Subsequently, relying on an old mobile phone, the two provide each other with clues across different time periods, solving case after case and revealing the hidden truths behind each case, while also provoking reflections on human nature behind the cases.
