In 1925, Fengxi general Wu Qingtian was defeated and captured at the Bengbu train station, and was executed by the direct line warlord Sun Xiaoqiu. Wu Qingtian's daughter, Wu Jianyu, vowed to avenge her father. Dressed as a man, Wu Jianyu, along with her sworn sisters Bai Lu and Chu Dandan, her brother Wu Zhongcheng, and her father’s loyal subordinate Ma Yun, set out for Shanghai.
