The story takes place during the Northern and Southern Dynasties. Xin'er (played by Tang Yan) is born into the royal family of Northern Liang, a princess who comes into the world with a silver spoon. However, an accident causes Xin'er's family to fall into a state of ruin, and Xin'er is forced to embark on a journey of escape. Along the way, she meets a woman named Li Weiyang (played by Tang Yan), who is actually the abandoned daughter of the Northern Wei Shu Fu. Soon, Xin'er's whereabouts are exposed.
