The story takes place in a massive multiplayer online virtual reality game called NewWorld Online. At the recommendation of a friend, the novice girl Meipulu (voiced by 本渡枫) enters the game world for the first time. Due to a lack of gaming knowledge, she allocated all her initial skill points to defense, inadvertently becoming a "tank" character who cannot be harmed by any attack. With the company of her friend Shiramine Risa (voiced by 野口瑠璃子), Meipulu embarks on her journey.
