The story follows an ordinary college student, Amamiya Yuhizuki, who one day is declared by a talking lizard to be the chosen knight to save the world. Just as Yuhizuki is feeling skeptical about this proclamation, he is attacked by enemies and saved by the princess he is meant to protect, Asahina Samidare, only to discover that she is actually a demon lord intent on conquering the world. Yuhizuki becomes a loyal knight to Samidare, drawn to her spirit and strength.
