Ordinary office worker Ryoma Takebayashi (voiced by Azusa Tadokoro) has hardly experienced a day of comfort in his life. At 39 years old, he still remains single, working like a dog for a greedy boss in a heartless company. Finally, in his narrow and damp single apartment, his life comes to an end. However, when Ryoma opens his eyes again, he finds himself reborn into another world as an 8-year-old boy. Compared to the dangerous reality of society, life in this other world is tough but filled with joy. Ryoma lives in a forest, immersed in studying how to use magic to tame wild slimes. He quickly makes friends in this world, including the cheerful young lady Alia (voiced by Yuki Kuwahara), the sword-loving Duke Reinhardt (voiced by Daisuke Ono), and the kind-hearted beast master Elisa (voiced by Saori Hayami).
