Liu Bowen, the national master of the Ming Dynasty, was said to be knowledgeable and talented, skilled in astronomy and geography, proficient in the Book of Changes, and able to know the past and future, leading a life distinct from ordinary people. As an official, he was empathetic to the people's suffering and handled matters with integrity and impartiality. The entire series consists of 40 episodes, each featuring a standalone story, including: the history of the founding of the country, the mystery of the beheaded official's silver, the turmoil of the Ming Sect, the mystery of the Fuxi jade bagua, the suspicion surrounding the Yung Cloud Temple, and the fateful romance of the twin jades, among others. This series encapsulates the essence of his life and legendary deeds. During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, the founding emperor favored treacherous officials and believed slanders. Liu Bowen felt that although the foundation of the country was established, treacherous ministers ruled the court. Anticipating that he would ultimately fall victim to slander, he decided to retire after achieving his success. Prime Minister Hu, who had long been at odds with Bowen, took the opportunity to slander him to the emperor, claiming that Bowen, knowing the heavenly secrets, foresaw the decline of the court and was unwilling to assist, which led the emperor to angrily approve Bowen's retirement. In the first episode of Liu Bowen's legend, as he decides to retire and seek seclusion, the emperor specially grants him the Tianlong Sword, hoping that Bowen will explore the people's hidden grievances and conveniently search for the rumored hidden treasure of the Fuxi jade bagua. The Left Prime Minister Hu Wei Yong and the eunuch Wei Wen secretly send assassins to attack Liu Bowen... Before leaving, Bowen earnestly advises the emperor on strategies for national prosperity and stability. Touched by Bowen's loyalty, and recognizing his great contributions to the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, the emperor grants him the Tianlong Sword, instructing him to travel the world, alleviate the people's suffering, and search for the whereabouts of the Fuxi jade bagua. Bowen departs from the capital, accompanied by guards Ding Chong and Wang Kai, uncovering plots of rebellion and usurpation along the way. Utilizing the bestowed "Tianlong Sword," he punishes evil, promotes good, seeks justice for the people, and delivers them from difficulties, striking down wickedness and bringing great relief to the heart of the populace. During their journey, they encounter many women, including the young leader of the Beggars' Sect, Zi Yun Yan, leading to a series of romantic entanglements. Ultimately, the three, whose feelings remain unresolved, part ways: Liu Bowen stays behind with Ding Chong and Wang Kai to protect the deposed crown prince while he returns to the mountains to seek seclusion...
