The story begins in 16th century Florence, where Arti (voiced by Mikako Komatsu) is a girl born into an aristocratic family. With her cheerful personality, she is full of curiosity about the world. From a young age, Arti became deeply obsessed with painting, determined to become an artist. However, in that era, it was almost unheard of for a woman to aspire to be an artist. Although her mother strongly opposed Arti's decision, she remained steadfast in her dream. She sought out the renowned painter Leo (voiced by Kazuya Nakai) at the time, asking to learn in his art studio. Initially, Leo was reluctant to accept the somewhat naive girl, but in Arti, he saw a reflection of his own past passion. Thus, Arti officially became Leo's apprentice and embarked on her journey in painting.
