Story Introduction: The son of the fishing boat shop "Makunouchi," Ikki Makunouchi, is a rare and outstanding high school student. Raised alone by his mother since childhood, Ikki has learned to help run the family fishing boat shop. In the spring of his second year of high school, Ikki is harassed by delinquents as usual and faces a series of beatings. Just then, a passing boxer named Mamoru Ekimura intervenes and saves Ikki. Due to Ikki's fainting, Ekimura takes him back to the "Duck River Boxing Gym" he belongs to. When Ekimura sees Ikki wake up, he tells him, "If you're fine, just quickly go home," prompting Ikki to leave in tears with a helpless expression. However, Ekimura cannot tolerate Ikki's weakness, so he draws a picture of the delinquent titled Meizawa and sticks it on the punching bag, encouraging Ikki to punch it out of frustration.
