The story takes place in a quiet corner of the imperial capital's fifth district, where there is a café. The workers at this café are a group of self-disciplined mechanical doll girls, who were once weapons that participated in the recently concluded war. In the precious peace time after the war, they are also trying to find their life’s meaning. Although a bit clumsy, the serious gray cherry blossom (voiced by Aki Kanemoto), the model of care for her companions, crow feather (voiced by Akira Nishiumi), the curious yet somewhat timid moonlight (voiced by Miyu Tomita), and the approachable broom star (voiced by Yuki Nakajima), all have their stories unfolded under the warm lights of the café.
