This work, being the first full-fledged sitcom from TV Asahi, is a ensemble drama set in the limited spaces of the dilapidated hot spring inn, Niji no Ya, including the entrance, lobby, employee room, entrance to the large public bath, and elevator. The protagonist is Tetsuro Kakioka, who, in rebellion against his father, the third generation of Niji no Ya, leaves home but ends up living an unsuccessful life.
