Shugo Shimada (played by Yosuke Eguchi) used to be a sharp and capable police officer, but he left the police force after some unforeseen events. Now, he runs a detective agency with his assistant Akari Kojima (played by Moka Kamishiraishi), but Shimada is not an ambitious detective, leading to a very slow business for the agency. One day, a seemingly wealthy elderly woman, Kazuko Sato (played by Mitsuko Baisho), approaches Shimada with a strange request. She wants Shimada to help fulfill the last wish of Kaneda Matsumoto (played by Meiko Kaji), who is terminally ill and whom she met while hospitalized. Kazuko claims to have ample funds and promises a substantial reward for completing the task, even sending nurse Haruki Teramoto (played by Jun Shison) as an assistant.
