This drama tells the life story of a man who impersonates his obedient grandson to fulfill the last wishes of his grandmother, who came from North Korea to South Korea and is suffering from cancer. The character Kim Soon, played by Yoon Yeo-jung, is the founder/president of "Hotel Paradise" and is a woman in her 90s. She experienced the liberation in 1930s as a teenager and went through the Korean War in her twenties, making her a figure who has lived through the tumultuous history of Korea. She endured separation and loss while escaping from the war with her husband and children, longing for the day she can see them again. Son Ye-jin plays the role of Shin-yeon, Kim Soon's granddaughter, who, unlike the other children of the chaebol family, aims to climb up to the highest position in the Paradise management from the grassroots level. Kang Ha-neul portrays the unnamed theater actor Hyun, who plays the role of her grandson to fulfill the final wish of the cancer-stricken Kim Soon.
