Adapted from the famous writer Ango Sakaguchi's work "Meiji Enlightenment: Ango's Detective Stories," set in Tokyo during the early Meiji period of civilizational enlightenment, it highlights the unique reasoning patterns of that era. The story unfolds in the late 19th century, during Japan's Meiji Restoration, a time of social unrest and turmoil. The gentleman detective Shin Jiro Yuki (Sota Fukushi) emerges in Kagurazaka, Tokyo, having earned the trust of the police department after spending time overseas, he becomes a special detective. Izumiyama Tora no Suke, the former swordsmanship disciple of the Restoration hero Katsu Kaishu, has a penchant for solving difficult cases, but is often outsmarted by Yuki. Thus begins a series of intricate and fascinating reasoning adventures reminiscent of a Meiji version of Sherlock Holmes.
