The pure and kind Tamako Kitashirakawa (voiced by Ayane Sakura), the tough yet gentle Midori Tokiwa (voiced by Yuki Kaneko), the free-spirited Kanako Makino (voiced by Juri Nagatsuma), and the seemingly cool but warm-hearted Shiori Asagiri (voiced by Yurie Yama) are four friends who support each other and have spent the happiest three years of their lives together. As graduation approaches, they face an uncertain future shrouded in mist, causing a subtle unease within the four girls, but more importantly, they hold hopes and dreams for their future lives. Tamako's family has run a mochi shop for generations, and as the eldest daughter, Tamako begins to consider her role in inheriting the family business. Meanwhile, her childhood friend, the competitive Mochizo Ooji (voiced by Atsushi Tamura), also has his own choices to make. Despite their families being competitors in the shopping district, he has evidently fallen for the charming Tamako.
