Produced by Production I.G, with the series composition by popular scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi from Nitroplus, and directed by Kazuya Murata, who has worked on popular titles such as "Fullmetal Alchemist" and "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion." This is the first part of the OVA sequel to the original SF animation "Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet," which aired on television from April to June 2013. About six months after parting ways with his beloved mech Chamber, Red has embarked on a new life with his companions aboard the fleet Gargantia, while also working as a member of the salvage team and tracing the remnants of the lost civilization of old Earth. Just then, a girl named Rima from his former superior Kugel's fleet appears before him... The voice actress for Rima, a new character in the OVA, is Inori Minase, who also appeared in NHK's morning drama "Amachan."
