Takahiro Matsui (voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi) first saw Hiroshi Tsukamoto (voiced by Toru Furuya) during a swimming competition. The naive Matsui was immediately captivated by Tsukamoto's handsome figure and fell deeply in love with him. However, what Matsui didn't know was that beneath Tsukamoto's healthy and cheerful exterior lay a twisted and distorted soul that had been oppressed and controlled. In an attempt to get closer to Tsukamoto, Matsui became a plaything for his group of friends. Eventually, tragedy struck—on a rainy night, Tsukamoto and his friends cruelly humiliated Matsui before disappearing without a trace.
Years passed, and now in high school, Matsui has kept his pain buried deep inside. He doesn't hate Tsukamoto; on the contrary, in order to follow in his footsteps, Matsui joined the swimming club. To his surprise, Tsukamoto's figure appeared before Matsui during his first club introduction. The fish that narrowly escaped has returned to the net.
